Our Mission

Replenish Refills is the newest refillery and grocery store in Asbury Park, providing low-waste, reusable, and refillable essentials all designed to make sustainability the easy, obvious, and fun choice.

Why is plastic a problem?

51 million tons of plastic are generated annually in the U.S., with 40% coming from packaging in supermarkets and pharmacies alone. Most plastics are only used once before entering a landfill or ocean, and despite what we've been told, very little of it is actually recycled. While 84% of Americans say they're concerned about plastic waste, most still identify recycled packaging as the best alternative they know of. We think we can do better.

So why do single-use plastics seem unavoidable?

Single-use plastic is the default because it's easy and cheap for businesses to offer. As sustainability becomes a growing priority for consumers, most stores still struggle to provide a genuinely sustainable shopping experience, but the burden shouldn't fall on the customer. Anyone who wants to choose reusable or refillable packaging should be able to do so.

That’s where we come in.

Replenish Refills sells personal care, cleaning, and food products by volume and weight, with no unnecessary packaging. Bring your own container, grab one from our donation station, or pick up a reusable option in store. Our refill bar is affordable and low-fuss, and we carry a full selection of zero-waste home and self-care products. We're here to fit into your existing routines, not disrupt them, while also investing in community education and real social impact.

You're welcome here.

Whether you're ready to go fully zero-waste or just curious about where to start, we'd love to have you. If you're frustrated by excess packaging, corporate greenwashing, or the feeling that sustainable options are out of reach, this shop is for you. The number of people looking for better alternatives is growing, and we're building a community around it.

Note From Our Founder

Caring about sustainability wasn't always second nature to me, but during the pandemic, I started to recognize how our everyday choices affect the people and planet around us.

When I lived in Brooklyn, refill stores were part of my routine. I'd grab my containers, pop in, and leave feeling good about what I was bringing home. When I moved back to New Jersey, that ease disappeared. Seeing aisle after aisle of bulky plastic packaging at my local grocery stores, with no easy swap in sight, left me frustrated.

That frustration became a question: Why isn't there a refill store here? And that question became Replenish Refills.

When you shop with me, know this: I am my own customer. My values drive every buying decision — nothing ends up on these shelves that I wouldn't use myself.
